I have knowledge of a guy that has posted well over 1000 resumes with not one single bite. It would seem that's all he knows to do in the current job atmosphere. But I've got to ask this man how many more resumes will he have to mail before he realizes he is doing a churning of your own? You know the old saying: if you don't want to go bananas from doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting different results, then do something else.

So what can a someone do that's different? Sure, keep mailing out those resumes, but remember this: not only are all jobs impermanent, but ways of getting employment also come and go and have a lifespan, which ends with, "The old way just doesn't work anymore."

Here are some suggestions:

- Insert a video of yourself on a website promoting yourself and what you're capable of doing for others and in turn, compensation.

- Talk to people, in other words, network, rather than of only sending out resumes.

- Frequent job coaching groups and hear what others are doing different.

- Produce a clientele for a craft or service you can provide and become your own person in charge.

- Consider job options in foreign countries.

- Instead of than looking for a job that will be full-time, with full benefits, think in terms of work that are more like gigs, that is, one time execution of a service or task.
