A Teen Confronts Her Drinking Friends To Find Out More About Alcohol Addiction And Alcohol Abuse
Heather drank on a usual basis with her drinking pals. One Thursday after school she began reflecting on her drinking behavior and the excessive and hazardous drinking of her buddies. As a consequence of this, she politely asked all of her drinking pals the following question: "what do we truly know about alcoholism, binge drinking, alcohol abuse, and alcohol poisoning? In other words, how much alcohol addiction and alcohol abuse information do we really know? For our young age, we clearly drink in an excessive and abusive manner and I am really beginning to wonder if we are headed for a life filled with alcohol-related difficulties down the road.
I believe we should go online and discover all that is feasible about binge drinking, alcohol poisoning, alcoholism, and alcohol abuse. And then if we have any relevant questions that we cannot understand after we complete our Internet research, we can take a hike to the student health center at the college and ask Nurse Urbanic to explain things to us.
It should not come as a complete surprise that what Heather articulated would instigate a heated discussion. For example, her best friend since her junior year in high school, Lola, said that they are too young and too healthy to be worried about drinking to an excess. Another pal named Alex stated that since most teenagers drink there is no solid reason why they should be any different. Another classmate named Kylie said that all she wants to do is to have fun drinking with her friends. And still another classmate named Dallas essentially agreed with Heather basically because both of his parents abused alcohol and both of his parents had a history of alcohol related difficulties.
Heather openly mentioned to her classmates that she understood everything that they had articulated but that involving oneself in irresponsible drinking at such a susceptible age really cannot be very healthy or conducive toward establishing a meaningful life. When some of her drinking friends asked what kind of alcohol difficulties Heather was discussing, Heather articulated the following: alcohol-related problems like alcoholism, alcohol-related traffic accidents and fatalities, and alcohol poisoning (which can be fatal in some instances) and alcohol-related diseases such as cancer, heart disease, and cirrhosis of the liver.
When Heather then emphasized that excessive and hazardous drinking usually results in financial, school, legal, and relationship problems, some of her friends finally began to comprehend how widespread and how devastating careless and excessive drinking can be. Undeniably some of her drinking buddies opened up and began to explain how these alcoholism and alcohol abuse effects had negatively affected some of their friends and their parents.
After discussing some of the alcohol addiction and alcohol abuse problems that are related to abusive and careless drinking, the vast majority of her drinking friends seemed to agree to the idea about getting information on the web. They were, on the other hand, cautious about discussing their drinking behavior with the administrators at school. As Heather heard this she thought to herself, "at least they are willing to learn more about their abusive and careless drinking. This is a very fine start."
